The other day,Jyotirmay Scindia and Gulam Nabi Azad both the congress leaders accused Central govt that the treatment meted out to the people in Kashmir in recent incidents was wrong.They stated that the treatment towards ordinary citizens can not be similar to the terrorists.Some other leaders such as Owaisi also levelled charge that thousands of people and innocent boys have been injured and some of them have lost their vision.
They also stated that ration and medicines are not being supplied in Kashmir and people are facing difficulty on account of continuous curfew in the area.
It is true that post Burhan Wani encounter and his burial, there has been lot of disturbances in the valley.According to one estimate around two and half lac people participated in Janaja of Wani.
Till now,no body has disputed that Wani was a hardcore terrorist involved in attacking security forces,JK police as also army.
The question has also been raised if Wani could have been arrested alive.
The people who were pelting stones at security forces and who were trying to help and provide cover to terrorists to escape can not be treated as ordinary innocent citizens.These people could have remained in their homes when encounter was going on.Where was the need of their participating in such attack on police and army?Therefore to project this stone pelting group as innocent boys or harmless citizens is not correct.There have been many videos on you tube showing that the police or security personnel beating hit,kicked,beaten so severely that he fell down on the ground but he did not used his gun to shoot the attackers.In any ordinary circumstances,the personnel could have killed many in self defence,but it did not happen.This clearly shows that armed forces kept lot of patience while dealing with miscreants.
Pellets were preferred over bullets so that no life is lost.People accusing security forces must also suggest as to how the mob could have been handled and how the Wani could have been arrested alive.It is fact that the person on spot is the best judge to decide the step to be taken to control hostile mob.
It is easier to issue statements and speak seating in chambers then to face the mob.
Leaders accusing the authorities are very conveniently forgetting the encounters and curfew imposed in the valley when they were at the helm of affairs.Did ration and medicines were supplied through home delivery in past during curfew during previous regime.
In nutshell to accuse others is easy then acting in the larger interest of the country.
